DevOps & System Administrator (Internal IT Infrastructure)

We are looking for a skilled and proactive DevOps & System Administrator to manage and grow our internal IT infrastructure. This role is critical for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our computing environment, supporting software development pipelines, and maintaining mission‑critical systems for our drug discovery technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

  •     Design, deploy, and maintain internal IT infrastructure:
    • Servers, storage, networking equipment
    • Linux/Windows-based systems
    • User management and access control
  •     Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multi-language development (Python, C++, Rust).
  •     Manage containerized environments (Docker/Singularity) and orchestration tools.
  •     Monitor and improve system performance, uptime, and security.
  •     Implement best practices for backups, disaster recovery, and system hardening.
  •     Maintain internal development environments, compute clusters, and high-performance workloads.
  •     Automate repetitive tasks using scripts or DevOps tools.
  •     Provide IT support for internal teams, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure smooth daily operations.

Required Skills & Experience

  •     Strong experience with Linux system administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, or similar).
  •     Proficiency in DevOps tools:
    • CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
    • Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  •     Solid understanding of:
    • Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, VLANs)
    • Virtualization (VMware, KVM, Proxmox)
    • Containerization (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes optional)
  •     Experience managing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) or hybrid setups.
  •     Strong scripting ability (Bash, Python, or equivalent).
  •     Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
  •     Experience setting up monitoring & log systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  •     Exposure to scientific computing or HPC clusters.
  •     Experience with GPU environments (CUDA, NVIDIA drivers, SLURM).
  •     Familiarity with software development workflows in Python, C++, Rust.
  •     Experience supporting research or biotech environments.
  •     Experience in managing on‑prem compute or storage appliances.
