UI/UX Developer – Scientific Software Platform

We are seeking a talented UI/UX Developer to design and build intuitive, visually compelling interfaces for our next‑generation drug discovery software platform. You will work closely with our engineering and scientific teams to translate complex molecular modeling workflows into elegant, user-friendly digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of UI/UX workflows for a scientific computing platform.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that simplify complex cheminformatics workflows.
  • Develop high-quality front-end components using React or Angular.
  • Collaborate with back-end engineers (Python, C++, Rust) to integrate front-end experiences with computational features.
  • Work with cheminformatics tools (e.g., Ketcher, 3Dmol.js, NGL Viewer) for molecule drawing and 3D visualization.
  • Ensure usability, responsiveness, accessibility, and design consistency across the application.
  • Conduct user research, gather feedback from scientists and engineers, and iterate designs accordingly.
  • Contribute to design system, UI toolkit, and reusable components.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in modern front-end development:
    • JavaScript/TypeScript
    • React, Angular, or Vue
  • Experience in UI/UX design:
    • Wireframing, prototyping, visual design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
    • Creating intuitive user journeys and interaction flows
  • Experience working in agile development environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and passion for clean, high-quality design.
  • Understanding of responsive and cross-platform UI design.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating front-end with back-end services.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  •     Experience with scientific or technical UI design.
  •     Familiarity with:
    • Chemical structure editors (Ketcher, ChemDoodle)
    • 3D molecular visualization tools (NGL Viewer, 3Dmol.js)
    •   Data visualization libraries (D3.js, Plotly)
  •     Knowledge of computational chemistry or biotech workflows.
  •     Experience collaborating with full stack platform teams using Python, C++, Rust.
